(RTTNews) - PetMed Express, Inc. (PETS), doing business as PetMeds and parent company of PetCareRx, announced the appointment of Jeff Willard as Chief Executive Officer and President and as a member of the Board of Directors, effective September 28, 2026.
Willard succeeds Leslie C.G. Campbell, who has served as Interim Chief Executive Officer and President since August 2025 and will retire as Chair of the Board and step down as a director on September 28, 2026.
Willard brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across consumer and e-commerce companies, with a background in driving growth, improving operations and developing brands.
He most recently served as CEO of Stewart-MacDonald (StewMac), a global e-commerce provider of guitar tools and parts.
Previously, Willard served as Chief Growth Officer and Chief Marketing Officer of Casper, President of Healthy Lifestyle Brands and CEO of Zac Brown Collective.
Earlier in his career, he held senior executive positions at Simmons Bedding Company, Harman International, Coleman, Helen of Troy and Lexmark International.
Following his appointment, Willard will focus on operational execution and the company's efforts to return to sustainable profitability and growth.
As part of the board leadership transition, the company appointed Justin Mennen, currently Lead Independent Director and Chair of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee, to succeed Campbell as Chair of the Board, effective September 28, 2026.
Peter Batushansky, a current member of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee, will succeed Mennen as Committee Chair on the same date.
Mennen will step down as Committee Chair but will remain a member of the committee and continue serving on the PetMeds Board.
Mennen currently serves as Chief Information and Technology Officer of Shake Shack Inc. and has been a member of the PetMeds Board since June 2024.
Campbell will remain with PetMeds as a full-time Strategic Advisor for 60 days following Willard's arrival to support business continuity and the leadership transition.
Campbell has served on the PetMeds Board since 2018 and became Board Chair in January 2024. She also served as Interim Chief Executive Officer and President since August 2025.
PetMeds, founded in 1996, operates as a direct-to-consumer pet healthcare company and online pharmacy licensed across all 50 states.
Through PetMeds and its PetCareRx subsidiary, the company offers pharmaceuticals, compounded medications, over-the-counter supplements and nutrition products for dogs, cats and horses.
PETS has traded between $1.57 and $4.10 over the past year. The stock closed Wednesday's trading at $4.10, down 1.23%. In pre-market trading, the stock is at $1.61, up 1.24%.
